Britannia Stamp

The Britannia stamp was, and still is, the highest value denomination ever issued by the British Post Office. Therefore it was decided that security was of the upmost importance and security experts from the Bank of England and The Royal Mint were employed to advise on measures to ensure the stamp count not be reproduced. During this time several designs were produced and after further consultation the Britannia stamp was born, incorporating anti-counterfeit measures never before seen on British stamps.
