Alphabet Stamps From New Zealand

New Zealand Post are to issue a new set of stamps based upon the letters in the alphabet. The issue is due on the 6th August, and all 26 stamps have a value of 50c.

Each stamp features a different subject, specific to the island of New Zealand. The title of the stamps are : Aotearoa, Beehive, Cook, Dog, Edmonds, Fantail, Goodnight Kiwi, Haka, Interislander, Jelly Tip, Kia Ora, Log o'wood, Mudpools, Nuclear Free, O.E, Pinetree, Quake, Rutherford, Southern Cross, Tiki, Upham, Vote, Weta, X-treme Sports, Yarn and Zeeland!

The idea of issueing a set of 26 stamps has angered a lot of collectors, and has been described as a blatent money making venture by the post office. Despite this, sales are expected to be extremely high for the issue.
