Coin Or Stamp?

PDF Print E-mail
A 50-cent Australian coin, shaped as a postage stamp, has gone on sale this week. It features a Chinese dragon and the Australian Olympic Committee logo on one side. It is to commemorate the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, and to show support for the Australian athletes taking part in the games.

The other side of the coin has the regular image of Queen Elizabeth II.

Stamps have been made in the shape of coins many times, but it is believed that this is the first time that a coin has been produced in the shape of a stamp!
