Used stamps are generally valued less than unused stamps, although there are exceptions to this. The majority of stamp collections are made up of both mint and used stamps. Collectors may well find that used stamps are more interesting, as the postmark tells a story of how, where and when the stamp was used. Some postmarks can be very rare and valuable.
