Sport for Peace - New Beijing Olympic Stamps PDF Print E-mail
On 8 August 2008, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) will issue a set of six commemorative stamps in mini-sheet format on the theme "Sport for Peace".

The stamp issue coincides with the OLYMPIC EXPO BEIJING 2008 which is being held in Beijing, China from 8 to 18 August in conjunction with the 2008 Olympics. Three souvenir sheets and a Beijing Personalized stamp sheet will also be released on the same day.

They are expected to lift the profile of the Olympic games, which have so far been hampered by the protests against Chinas human rights record.
