Australia: '100 Years of Quarantine' stamp PDF Print E-mail
Marking the centenary of the Quarantine Act, this stamp is released to commemorate the 1908 Act passed to protect Australia from diseases, pest and destructive animals. The quarantine of the island has been very successful and its high running costs are justified by the huge amout of benefit to the economy

The single stamp is to be released later in the year, and will be available in all the normal formats, along with first day covers specially postmarked from main quarantine centres.
